How to grow a Facebook page in India in 2026
Published 19 September 2026 · 1 min read
Facebook is far from dead in India. Local businesses, regional news pages, community groups and religious or cultural pages still reach large audiences there, often larger than on Instagram. The platform rewards a few specific habits.
What works
- Reels: short vertical videos get the widest reach, including to people who do not follow you.
- Local language: posts in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi and other regional languages often outperform English.
- Groups: a related group keeps people engaged between posts.
- Events and offers: good for shops, venues and service businesses.
- Live videos: notify followers and can bring strong reach.
Set the page up properly
Complete the About section, add phone number, address, opening hours and a clear cover photo. Add a call-to-action button such as Message or Call. Pages that look complete are trusted more.
Engagement
Reply to every comment and message. Pages with active replies get more people to message, and Facebook reads conversation as a good sign. Ask simple questions in posts to encourage comments.
A posting plan
| Frequency | Content |
|---|---|
| 3 times a week | Reels |
| 2 times a week | Photo posts with local relevance |
| Weekly | Live video or Q&A |
Social proof
A page with a handful of likes looks abandoned, even when the business is real. Many owners add a modest base of followers alongside real posts, and then let genuine engagement carry the page. Keep numbers in proportion to your real reach.
Measure
Open Page Insights weekly and note your best three posts. Repeat their format.
