Views: meaning and how it works

Views count how many times a video, reel or story was played.

Each platform counts a view differently: Instagram counts a short play, YouTube needs more watch time, Telegram counts a post shown in a chat.

View counts are the first number people read on a video, so they affect click-through.

How it works in practice

A view does not always mean someone watched the whole video. Platforms set different thresholds, and replays often count again. Treat views as a visibility number, not proof of attention.

Example: a reel with 20,000 views and 30 likes suggests people scrolled past; the same views with 1,500 likes suggests they enjoyed it.
