How to get your first 1,000 YouTube subscribers in India

Most channels stall before 1,000 subscribers because they upload randomly, pick titles by guesswork and give up after a handful of videos. A better route is to treat the first 20 videos as an experiment with a clear method.

Pick a niche people search for

Type your topic into YouTube search and watch the autocomplete. Those suggestions are what real people look for. A channel about “budget laptops under ₹40,000” has a clearer audience than “tech”. Choose something you can make 50 videos about without getting bored.

Make search-friendly videos first

Search videos keep getting views for months, sometimes years. Entertainment videos can spike and vanish. Early on, mix both but lean on videos that answer a question people type: “how to”, “best”, “vs”, “under ₹X”.

Titles and thumbnails do most of the work
