How much should an Instagram influencer charge in India? A simple pricing method
Published 12 October 2026 · 1 min read
There is no official rate card for Indian influencers. Brands pay for results and for effort, and most small creators underprice or overprice because they copy numbers from strangers. Here is a method that works from your own data.
Step 1: know your average reel views
Take your last ten reels and average the views. This is what a brand can realistically expect, and it is more honest than your follower count.
Step 2: choose a cost per thousand views
Micro-creators often price somewhere in the range of a few hundred rupees per thousand views, depending on niche and audience quality. Finance, fashion and tech usually command more than general entertainment. If your average is 8,000 views and you charge ₹300 per thousand, a starting reel price is about ₹2,400.
Step 3: add production effort
If you must script, shoot and edit a polished reel, add your time and any costs for props, locations and editing. A simple talking-head reel costs less than a produced product video.
Step 4: add usage rights
If the brand wants to use your reel in its own ads or website, charge extra, since the content has value beyond your page.
Step 5: add exclusivity and extras
- Story mentions, link stickers and posts add to the price.
- Exclusivity (not working with competitors for a period) adds a premium.
- Rush delivery adds a premium.
Step 6: leave room to negotiate
Quote slightly above your minimum, then agree on a package. Offer a lower price only for a bigger or longer collaboration.
Keep your numbers honest
