How engagement rate is worked out
Add the average likes and comments on your recent posts, divide by your follower count, and multiply by 100. A page with 10,000 followers that averages 400 likes and 40 comments has a rate of 4.4%.
What is a good rate?
- Under 1%: low. Content is not resonating, or the audience is inactive.
- 1% to 3%: average for most accounts.
- 3% to 6%: good.
- Above 6%: excellent, often seen on smaller niche pages.
Brands usually ask for this number before agreeing a collaboration, so keep your followers and likes in believable proportion.
